Georgia O'Keeffe inspired flowers

I couldn't resist posting this amazing third grade interpretation of Georgia O'Keeffe's flower paintings. It's one of my favorite projects ever. We traced our drawings with thick marker lines, traced the marker with glue to give the artwork some texture and then used watercolor paints. The glue soaks up the ink from the marker as it dries and changes color.

Fifth Grade Printmaking

My fifth graders used pop art, Andy Warhol and Wayne Thiebaud as inpiration for their designs that they carved into EZ Cut linoleum blocks. They rolled ink onto their printing blocks with brayers and printed multiple times in an array of colors. They finished off their work by presenting their four best prints as a group.
